You know that $250 graphics card that you bought and wonder why RuneScapes game play doesn't improve one bit on it? Well it's because once again RUNESCAPE doesn't use accelerated 3D graphics (IT DOESNT EVEN USE 3D GRAPHICS). You do not have to go into collision detection much at all (hence runescape you stick to one square and one square only).Ĥ. Thus making Jagex add new 'content' really fast at an unbelievable rate.ģ. A Pseudo-3D engine also is very easy to make user friendly. So that is why RuneScape HAS NO SKY and ONLY a ground.Ģ. When using 2.5D and constructing land you may either make a ground, sky, or both (if you use both it'll appear 2D (as in old mario games). Yes, you are wondering how? Well a few facts of Pseudo-3D for you:ġ. You are wanting to know what kind of 'dimension' the game is in right? Well okay I'll tell you. Okay well now that you are baffled at how RuneScape isn't 3D when it strictly puts itself off like it is 3D. Okay you see RuneScape is no where near 2D now is it? And boy when I thought it was 2D I was WRONG. Truth to be told yes I have played it and have been trying my luck to find out what kind of game engine RuneScape is run on. Yes you are probably saying what the F-K?! Dude it's 3D haven't you played it? Apparently this is where you SHOULDN'T START!
This is for the aspiring gamer who wants to make themselves a game like RuneScape.
